Strawberry Daiquiri. Even the name is chic, I simply love the sound of it. Perhaps it's the main reason why I order it that much! Strawberry tastes even better here than fresh! One can tell just by the look of it how good a strawberry daiquiri will taste. That's entirely similar to looking at the fruit in the grocery store. You can generally tell from just one look!
To me, strawberry daiquiri is the best way to consume sweet strawberry in abudance! I'm sure that unlike Sochu, it's high in calories! Afterall, its main ingredients are Rum, fresh strawberry (or frozen depending on where you get it), lime juice and sugar. Sometimes, grenadine is also added to it. Regardless, I still love it!
Daiquirí is also the name of a beach near Santiago, Cuba. It is said that Daiquiri was invented by a group of American mining engineers while working in a mine in 1905 and had it mixed in a bar named Venus 23 miles east of the mine. Originally, the drink was served in a tall glass with cracked ice but had since evolved to one that's mixed in a shaker and served in shaved ice.
As with Sochu and Sangria, this is one easy drink to make, especially if you live in countries like United States, Canada & Australia where strawberries are in abundance & cheap to buy. I hardly find good strawberry daiquiri in Asia so don't try this drink while in Asia. It won't be good. A must if you are travelling in America!
