It had been a long time in the making, but in 2008, the Toronto Maple Leafs finally did it. Led by Darren Roanoke, they overcame the long odds and won the 14th Stanley Cup of their long and storied history, beating the Los Angeles Kings and their star goaltender…. Wait…. Editors message…. What the hell do you mean, it was a movie?! You realize that I now have to start this essay … more

BaronSamedi3 posted a Quick Tip about Ice Hockey.

Welcome to the greatest sport on Earth. You take a bunch of guys, put them in ice skates, give them sticks, and let them go out and fight over a small rubber disc. Next to ice hockey, everything else looks like it was made for ADD.
Toronto, Ontario is a fine city. Loads of attractions, very pretty, friendly people, money to be made, high quality of life, film industry giant, Toronto has it all. That being said, I guess I can't blame professional baseball players too much for not wanting to go there to play for the long haul. After all, Toronto's baseball team, the Blue Jays, plays in the Skydome (no, I don't care that the name … more
I keep wondering why the city of Toronto, Ontario has such a largely unsuccessful professional sports largesse. There's those 13 Stanley Cup titles won by the NHL's Maple Leafs, of course, but they're past a point where they hold any real meaning in bar talks - that thirteenth title came in 1967, the year before the NHL expanded and doubled its size from the Original Six to twelve teams. Their MLB … more
This was the event that the UFC held that pit US fighters against those from Canada, and for the most part it was a good event. Of course like another time BJ Penn would get cheated in my opinion. I don't think their should really be a country vs country thing going on in MMA because it is [Mixed Martial Arts] and that is styles from all over the world that every fighter has to be well rounded … more

Extremely fun when in countries like Switzerland, Norway, Canada and the U.S. Awful in Asia, especially South East Asia! Temperature and the lack of hiking trails have a little to do with that. I love hiking with a camera and especially if I'm not rushing to finish a trail! Hiking alone does pose some degree of dangers, especially for woman and … more
The cost of this 250 ml bottle may seem a whit extravagant, but in this instance, a little goes a long way. One tidy pump of foam - no more or less - will satisfactorily cleanse any pair of hands not afflicted by gigantism. Its piquant scent is invigorating - overpowering in large doses, but pleasantly fragrant in the measured amounts that ought be utilized. This doesn't leave the skin of my hands … more
Lake Morraine, Lake Louise, Lake Peyto, Columbia Icefield & Banff and all the nature's wonders are here. They can all be easily accessible from Calgary. A mere 2 hour drive. I've been here more than 3x and I don't think I'll ever get tired of it!
Lived here for 3 years and visiting every year for the past 10 years. It's a perfect city in the summer. Winter is another story though... food is best in Toronto, esp. Chinese, Vietnamese & Italian!

Went a couple of times to Niagara Falls when I was schooling & vacationing in Toronto. The most memorable trip? Right in the middle of winter. That was definitely a sight! Water in motion while part of it were frozen. It's not everyday you see that in life! Niagara Falls is also the honeymoon city of the Canadians. Personally, as one of the great Falls, I prefer … more

Niagara Falls can be magical in the winter when you spotted the water turned into ice and snow filled the entire area into an ice castle! Well, for one, you need to dress up for this occasion. Once is enough for me! (in the winter, that is!)
If I were teaching high school mathematics, this book would be one of the prime sources for problems on my exams. While no exam would contain only problems from this book, a few of these problems on the test would be sufficiently challenging and expand the mathematical thought processes of the students. As the title implies, there has been a high school mathematics competition in the … more

Do you want to know the best way I have ever spent $2? A visit to Niagara Falls, NY for the first time ever!!!! $1 toll to cross the bridge there, $1 toll to cross the bridge on the way out. Niagara Falls is about 7-8 hours west of Boston (therefore on our way home) so we decided we were going to stop and see them on our drive back to MN. We got there just after sunset which is such a cool … more
I have been using the Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 5500 Revolution for 2 years and have no problems with it. It works just as well as the day I got it -- no connectivity or other problems. The battery life on both the keyboard and the mouse is phenomenal! The batteries on the keyboard (2 AA) needs to be replaced every 8-10 months. I got the Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 5500 … more
The best book for through-hikers or section-hikers of the PCT. Excellent maps and extremely useful details and tips. This is the combined north & south volume, though you can purchase separate volumes if you want only a particular half of the trail.
I am going to admit right up front that this whisky has, for the last fifteen years or so, been one of my very favourites. This stretches well back in time before I was even considering a hobby as a spirits writer. My review, as a result, may at times be a little over zealous in its praise, but I guess I feel it is more honest that way, as I am truly passionate about the Wiser’s … more
