Mango
Love this fruit...we used to call the sides of it as "Cheeks" and the boney middle as the "nose". This is so good and goes well with almost anything. Green sour mangoes can go with rice and sweet mangoes make excellent brulee and sorbet. Mango rules!

Coconut
The coco-nut nut is a giant nut but if you eat too much of it, you'll get a little sick. The co-co-nut nut is a BIG BIG Nut but this delicious "Nut" is not a Nut! It's a coco-fruit, from the coco-tree from the cocoa family!

Tofu
Nice that it's there for vegetarians, but its tendency to absorb everything around it turns it into edible baking powder. What happens is a disgustingly spongy texture with the taste of everything on you plate, whether or not it goes together.

Pecel
Long bean, bean sprouts, fried tofu and Emping (a kind of crackers) are what make this very healthy dish a delightful combination! When mixed with the special peanut sauce, it's heavenly! I didn't like this dish until recent years. For some reasons, I hate vegie in my younger days. Now, I love this entree. Sometimes I experiment it with different kind of vegie like carrots, cabbages and celeries. …

Bali
Some of the best diving can be had in this island of Indonesia west of Australia. Many 5* hotels have been built on this island where its inhabitants are Hindus and not Muslims. Bali is exotic, fun and captivating. One of the best places to go on a honeymoon!

Sate Padang
Sate Padang is skewered meats and offals served with a special sauce which I have no idea what it's made of other than it's the best I've ever had! I ate this as a child when I was living in Indonesia almost on a daily basis after school. Sate Padang is my most favorite food in Indonesia! Darn, I miss it!!!

Jackfruit
This one has a nice aroma (not the same as Durian but more acceptable to the foreigners) & best if eaten with grass jelly & coconut juice. It's tasty on its own too and the seeds can be cooked and eaten as well. Very versatile fruit.      In Thailand, Jackfruit has been dried and processed into Jackfruit chips which is a great snack if you like it sweet!

Jambu Air
This fruit looks like wedding bells! I love the color as well as the fruit itself. A beautiful & cheerful fruit. In Indonesia and Malaysia, it is one of the ingredients in making fruit salads. Jambu Air may also be popularly known as the Rose Apple and Love Apple.      Since it's Prince Andrew & Kate Middleton's wedding today, this is certainly the fruit of the day!!!

Mango
This is one of the most delicious fruits of all time. Harumanis in Indonesia is my favorite. If you haven't tried that, you haven't tried real mango! It's a love fruit, by the way, if you know how to play with it ;-)

Garuda Indonesia
Garuda is actually "is a large mythical bird or bird-like creature that appears in both Hindu and Buddhist mythology". The Indonesian government named the national carrier after the mythical bird. Garuda services mainly domestic market and also Asian countries like Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, China and uses mostly Airbus aircrafts for international flights.      Clearly, …

Nasi Goreng
I was surprised to find Nasi Goreng in Mount Tai (Taishan 泰山) at the Four Points Taian. It was good and really reasonably priced. I had it for room service at RMB 55 (that's US$8.50) ++. Not only does it has the Indonesian chilli but also the kropok (prawn crackers). Awesome!

Definitely the resort to stay in if you're heading Borobudur, the largest Buddhist monument in the world. Provided that money is of not of great concern! Otherwise, a spa experience at this resort would be excellent too!

My friend had her (2nd) wedding here. Is it heavenly? Certainly it is. Her marriage wasn't heavenly though. It didn't last! Nonetheless, this is a resort you must visit at least once if you haven't done so; whatever the occasion is!

Amandari
At the Amandari, you'd be having your meals next to the rice paddies which is quite a hit with many photographers. The way to experience this resort without paying a huge price tag is to just get yourself a reservation at the hotel's restaurant. Best for lunch!

Amankila
One of my favorite resorts in Bali. I have the fortune to visit it when it was first launched, back then in early 90s. The resort is not in the touristy areas of Bali, hence, it's far away from the maddening crowd. The best part of it is that it overlooks the ocean and with private pools in each of the beach houses. That was way too cool back then. Imagine, even today, the concept of having your …

Mount Merapi Eruptions (2010)
Singapore Airlines & some regional airlines from Singapore and Hong Kong have suspended flights to Jakarta due to the ashes from this eruption (still continuous) which may have had one of engines from the Qantas A380 (flight from Sydney) exploded midair last week. Luckily the flight landed safely in Singapore since the other 3 Rolls Royce Turbo engines were still working.       …

Mount Merapi Eruptions (2010)
Recent and continuous Mt. Merapi eruptions have caused grounded all flights in Yogyakarta. As recent as this week, 2 flights from Australia had experienced trouble in the air. Whether it is due to the ashes from eruptions is still unclear. However, travels to this area is no safe for now.      Major airlines from Singapore have cancelled all flights to Jakarta on Saturday (Nov. …

Mount Merapi Eruptions (2010)
At least more than 139 deaths and it is still erupting today. The continuous eruptions have been blamed for one of Qantas flights which has had one of its engine exploded mid-air before an emergency landing in Singapore. That was the A380 flight from Sydney to Singapore and Qantas has since grounded all A380 flights. Another plane is reported to be having problem today although the cause is still …

Mango
As part of balanced Raw Food diet, you should include one mango every week.  It's a great addition to smoothies, fruit salads, or even piled on top of a salad.      One thing that's interesting about sliced mango is that if you leave it in the fridge overnight it will turn into a texture similar to carrots.  If you like carrots, try it.  If you dislike carrots, try …
