Cons: Some may say it's pricey - but it's worth it!
The Bottom Line: If your hair is dry, color treated, or just tired for some reason, try this shampoo - you definitely won't regret it!
I used to use just the everyday shampoo - Herbal Essences, Suave - but one day I decided to get my hair cut (don't worry, this is relevant).
My hair had been dyed for a while and I was letting it grow out to be it's normal color again (I didn't want to dye it again - even back to my original color). For some reason, this made my hair even more prone to tangling, even after a good brushing. The woman was having problems with this and when the cutting was all done and I was paying, she directed my attention to the Biolage area. They were having a sale and she pointed out two products she claimed would make my hair soft and more manageable (aka less tangled). At first I was reluctant to buy such expensive shampoo, but she convinced me and I bought a liter of the Hydrating Shampoo and a 16 oz. tub of the Conditioning Balm. (hooray for sales)
On to how it worked.
First off, you honestly do not need much shampoo to do the job. A quarter sized amount should work nicely (I had hair about 1-2 inches from being in the middle of my back), and even now my hair has been cut to about an inch above my shoulders and I only use a quarter sized amount (if not less). Because of this, the shampoo lasts an amazingly long time, which is great. I was very excited about my newfound shampoo. It lathers up nicely (smells good too!) and walla! Clean hair that was soft and much less tangle prone (if at all). My hair can sometimes become a bit dry and this shampoo helps it out - it won't heal your hair, but it will improve it!
Price for a liter of this stuff will be around $20. A smaller bottle will obviously mean less money. However, I think this stuff is well worth the money. It lasts forever and does a fabulous job. The gentle botanical ingredients in it help to give back what your hair needs. Due to my usage, I find that it works wonderfully with the Conditioning Balm.
The only way to get this shampoo is through either salons or online stores. Some online stores will be cheaper than others (but again this year I was lucky to buy more just as both went on sale again - shampoo and conditioner for $27 total - a great deal). This stuff can't be found in the local Wal-Mart! If you shop around online, it's a good idea to compare prices before making a purchase because prices can vary from $30-40.
If you have hair that is dry and isn't taking well to whatever it is you're using now, I'd give this shampoo a try. I am a very thrifty person and to get me hooked on something like this (I won't ever buy any other shampoo or conditioner from now on) means it's a pretty good product. ^_~
