A boring but functional tennis shoe

This is the classic wilson tennis shoe, which so many people like that they've produced it in some form for around a decade.

This shoe is very boring to look at, but provides appropriate stability for an extremely high impact, rapid foot movement sport.  I've had no foot or ankle injuries while playing tennis in this shoe.

The rubber bottoms are very durable, but someone who plays 5 times a week can still go through a shoe like this in a month.

One thing to watch out for -- these shoes, especially the leather variant, are initially quite stiff.  You should always walk around in the shoe for at least a day before playing tennis in it, otherwise the stiffness of the leather can cause blisters if you stop very suddenly on the tennis court.

Unfortunately, Wilson has realized that this shoe has a die hard group of tennis players who really like it.  For a few years, they sold it quite cheaply to try to clear out their inventory, but they now sell it at 2x the clearance prices ($45 instead of $23) because they know anyone who hasn't moved on to a newer model will be willing to pay a premium.
