My Favorite Christmas Song From a Target Commercial!

If you're like me, you've seen that Target commercial with the kids running down to rip open their presents and then, rewound to the beginning of Christmas morning. Every time it's on, I bop my head and get as excited as those kids for Christmas morning.

I finally said to myself I've got to get that song. One of my favorite hip-hop groups, Sacramento-based Blackalicious, are the creators of the head bopper, appropriately titled "Toy Jackpot". They never cease to amaze and delight me and they didn't fail with this one. This isn't as intellectual as some of their other songs but, since when is Christmas morning about being intellectual? I love how it perfectly captures the excitement of Christmas morning: "I was up all night in anticipation/Feeling electric joules of jubilation/Yuletide carols from the local congregation/Make it tough to hold my patience".

Instead of the usual alt-pop version of a standard Christmas Carol fuzzy warmness, Target uses Blackalicious's talent for matching the aggressive lyrics of Gift of Gab with a 7-year-old's real view of Christmas morning- PRESENTS!!!!!! I plan on playing this for my Christmas playlist and downloaded it for FREE. Check out the full song below:
