I am not a fan of rap music at all. But this song gripped me from the start.
After watching the Video I think we are looking at the next Grammy Awards Winner.
Rihanna adds great strength to the video, it is about domestic violence and uncontrolled feelings. Eminem has a troubled background but so too has Rihanna and together they add strength to the subject matter.
At the same time the porduction value of the video is great, it is nothing short of a short story. Megan Fox and Dominic Monaghan both have a strong presence on screen and convey the troubles of a torn relationship very well, I daresay it is among their best performance ever.
As for the lyrics, it could be argued that rap at is best is the strongest form of modern poetry. More so since it doesn't carry the song - that is Rihanna's line as is normal with rap music.
The sum of the whole is near perfect and I suspect that we are looking at the next Grammy Awards best Music Video Winner.

I'm in the same boat as @devora- I'm a hip-hop fan that took a while to warm up to this song. It happened after my brother had it on repeat during a road trip lol! I don't think I had seen the video all the way through- thanks for adding it into your review! It's pretty powerful stuff.

Ha, I kind of fell into this song the opposite way -- I'm actually a rap fan, but it took a while for this song to grow on me, now I really like it. I've yet to see the video though, so I'll have to check it out. And I agree with @Bethany_K, you should totally embed the video into your review! Thanks for sharing, Jokull :)

The song features vocals from Barbadian singer Rihanna and is produced by Alex da Kid. Additional vocal production on Rihanna's vocals were provided by Makeba Riddick. The song gave Eminem his fourth US Hot 100 number-one hit and Rihanna her seventh. It also claimed the top spot on ten other charts. "Love the Way You Lie" has been number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 for six consecutive weeks.
