I have been using WebMD for almost a year for a varity of reasons. From looking up different medications my relatives are taking to doing research on different medical conditions, this website has been really helpful. It is well organized and packed full of useful information. It is one of the main websites I turn to if a family member, friend or myself become ill. Sometimes I find myself doing research on WebMD for just curiosity purposes. All and all, I believe this website is an excellent source of medical information.

I love their sympotom checker! With two kids this is so helpful and handy. Not sure if your an iphone user-- but this review pointed out they have an iphone app. I think this would be so handy to have on the go.

Excellent web site for those of us who did not go to medical school, but be weary- Visiting the doctor for a diagnosis is the best way to stave off sickness, and to remain healthy.

WebMD is an American provider of health information services. It is primarily known for its public Internet site, which has information regarding health and health care, including a symptom checklist, pharmacy information, blogs of physicians with specific topics and a place to store personal medical information. The site receives information from accredited individuals and is reviewed by a medical review board consisting of four physicians to ensure accuracy.
WebMD also offers services to physicians and private clients. For example, they publish WebMD the Magazine, a patient-directed publication distributed bimonthly to 85 percent of physician waiting rooms. Medscape is a professional portal for physicians with 30 medical specialty areas and over 30 physician discussion boards.
The organization is financed by third-party contributions and sponsorships.
WebMD operates other health-related sites besides WebMD including MedicineNet, Medscape, RxList, eMedicine and eMedicineHealth. These sites provide similar services to those of Web.MD. MedicineNet is an online media publishing company. Medscape offers up-to-date information for physicians and other healthcare professionals. RxList offers detailed information about pharmaceutical information on generic and name-brand drugs. eMedicineHealth is a consumer site offering similar information to that of Web.MD. It was first based on the site created for physicians and healthcare professionals called eMedicine.com.
