Ok, this one I had mixed feelings about. I am a huge Transformers fan and was super excited to see the movie when it first came out. I had heard about the new destroyer of worlds Unicron and was psyched. When the movie started with the rockin 80's songs I was feeling it. The power ballads "You got the Touch." and the remixed Transformers theme by Lion made it super awesome!
The final battle between Optimus and Megatron had finally come! Then a newer bot who's name will forever live in infamy shows up...Hot Rod!! I place Optimus' death souly on his shoulders. Prime is on earth battling Megatron in a final death match and a young, green, autobot rookie somehow got his servos crossed and believed Prime needed help taking on Megatron, in a one on one match! He gets in the way and becomes a hostage. Prime being the kinda guy that he was surrendered to save his retarded alley.
Of course the demented, evil Megatron takes this opportunity to use his kindness against him, yet again, and blasts Prime so many times I felt the shots should be censored for children! This of course forces a retreat to some autobot central control and prime in a tearful exchange gives up the autobot matrix of leadership to Ultra Magnus, the only other sweet dude left on the team. The chilling words "One shall stand, One shall fall," haunted many children for a long time after that movie!

This of course is the most in opportune time for Prime to die, seeing as though there is a giant world destroying Robot coming within close proximity to earth! Now the thing I despised most about this is that Megatron manages to escape and get some wicked repairs and upgrades and becomes Galvatron. While Prime gets...Remembered! We get the "matured," version of Hot Rod in the form of Rhodamis Prime. Ooo, lucky us! All in all the action was superb. The animation was sweet, the music rocked, but the death of Optimus Prime was so not cool! If they had it were they both killed each other, in that the Hero wins, then crawls off somewhere dies type. Then I would've felt good about it. Not ,"the hero dies, but fails to take out the bad guy who grows stronger and more difficult for a younger generation to have to deal with," kinda way.
