Being a true hip hop head, I'm sure I wouldn't be off-base saying that the past decade was rather bland and uninspiring for the genre. And I'm willing to bet good money that most true hip hop heads will readily agree.  Even though the genre is relatively young, nothing in hip hop these past years have been able to top the creativity and originality of the late 80s to mid 90s era.
