Saeba Ryo is just a cool comic book character, and the stories are just so over the top and everything is beautifully drawn. I'd recommend the Manga version over the Anime, the Anime "censored" out a lot of things that made the comic so fun!

If you like Dragonball, but doesn't like the endless fighting of Dragonball Z, you have to check out Dr. Slump, Akira Toriyama created this comic before Dragonball, and it has all the humor but none of the boring fighting!

Probably doesn't hold up very well now, but when I first watched it in the 80's, I watched all the episodes in about 2 days!

Sakigake!! Otokojuku
One of the most over-the-top and fun manga ever created. The story is very simple, a private school that emphasize in military/martial arts training that goes to different tournaments and fight!

Dragon Ball
Drgaon Ball Z pic
I used to love dragon ball, but the transition into Dragon Ball Z soured the experience for me, I think Toriyama Akira just ran out of ideas and the series devolved into mindless fighting. But the series started out great, very funny and imaginative.
