There are a lot of long stares and meaningful waffle, but the car chases reign supreme. Bah to all that CGI Transformers nonsense - you haven't lived until you've drive the wrong way around Paris' highways at 90 mph.
Just excellent, even if Christian Bale's suit-mumble gets a little much at times. There a point where Ken Watanabe says "impressive" and the way he says it reminds me of Miss Piggy. Anyone else get that vibe? Otherwise zipping around the Chicago in a tumbler is the only way to travel.
"What is this, a school for ANTS?" and "I feel like I'm taking crazy pills" are two phrases that try to use frequently. I might try to shuffle them into my next book somewhere. "I think I have the black lung."
I was initially scared that Ben Affleck might show up, since the Constitution of Massachusetts requires him to appear in Boston-based movies, but Scorsese's crime flick gets better and better with each viewing. DiCaprio, Nicholson, Damon? All in one film? Now *that's* an evening at home.
