Ten of My Favorite Songs

For those times when it's just me, some headphones and YouTube. Good times. Not the kind of tunes I'd bring to a party. I hope you enjoy...
Rob Dougan's

Yes, yes, used in The Matrix. I like most of Dougan's electro-orchestral stuff - it's a shame he's gone quiet. Clicky >> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFS4zYWxzNA&feature=related
Gotan Project - Santa Maria (Del Buen Ayre)
I think I found this through a Pandora recommendation (don't you love Pandora)... really different. >> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zD9W9SZj9w&feature=related

The Dining Rooms: Tunnel
Turn up to 10, sit down with a glass of wine and relax:

Also used in the Creepy Palm Pre commercial, slowed down to catastrophically terrifying effect by Queen of the Robots Tamara Hope (definitely see this one...) . I just got the chills.
Supreme Beings of Leisure: Catch Me
Not even sure how to this James Bond-esque style, but it's one of Supreme Beings' best songs. If you've never met SBL, they're from Los Angeles where almost everything good comes from (except bacon from Denmark). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ic7_Dl3lGoA

Yann Tiersen-Comptine d'un autre été
If you liked Amelie and the music, you'll enjoy this. I like most of Tiersen's work - weird, energetic and dramatic all the same time - and this song captures it all... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBZPa-kLLCE

Fight Club soundtrack
Trust David Fincher films to have a solid soundtrack - Fight Club's is one of the most original and identifiable I can think of. The Dust Brothers captured the soul of the movie perfectly in this frenetic opening piece (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-D1vwKi0FTA&feature=related). This was possibly the only time I've ever seen a film and within 90 seconds just knew it was going to be spectacular.

In the House In a Heartbeat
John Murphy's pivotal violent piece for 28 Days Later is a steadily-building tour-de-force:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ST2H8FWDvEA

Santo & Johnny's technically sophisticated and dreamy piece that says it all in the title... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogxTQXAgY3Q

Adiemus - Cantus Song of Tears
If you took the glass of wine recommendation from earlier, this song by Adiemus lasts forever so piur another... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJkTfZ0gLUw

Whoa, there are only ten songs on this list, but you've managed to make it very, very diverse!  Diggin' it, and I love that Beethoven and Rob Dougan are together at the top!  By the way, you can embed those videos into your list if you'd like, just like I did in my Videos So Cute, They'll Make You Puke list.  Let me know if you need a hand! ;)

Thanks - I didn't know about the embedding - let's get on it!

Dang, can't get the second video in #4 to populate due to the - ahem - "less than helpful" editor, that's restricted in height... help!
