Simply put, the St. Louis Cardinals are a winning, professional, and passionate franchise. The Cardinals have won a National League record 10 World Series championships, second only to the New York Yankees (who have 26) in Major League Baseball. The Cardinals are the most successful professional sports franchise west of the Mississippi.
There is no program in the nation with as devoted, knowledgeable or fanatical fans as the University of the Kentucky. It's no accident that Kentucky is generally considered the top college basketball program of all-time, or that Kentucky leads the nation in numerous statistical categories, both on and off the court.
The Tennessee Titans have been in existence as an NFL franchise for 50 years now- dating back to 1959 when they were known as the Houston Oilers! They have a great winning record- and consistantly make the playoffs each year. And who can forget the "Music City Miracle"!
Founded in 1946, the Lakers are one of the NBA's most famous and successful franchises. As of 2009, the Lakers hold the all-time records for wins (2,970), winning percentage (61.7%), and NBA Finals appearances (30). The Lakers have won 15 NBA titles, second only to the Boston Celtics' 17. I especially love the 80's when they were known as the "Showtime" Lakers with Magic Johnson, Worthy, and Kareem!
This was my team as a child- to me, there was nothing better than going to see the Dodgers play baseball. Such passion and historical significance as a franchise. From their days in New York known as the Brooklyn Dodgers- the signing of Jackie Robinson- all the World Series Championships- and one of the biggest fan bases in all of baseball; What a great overall team!
