We bought this cradle swing just before my son was born, and am I glad that I bought it! My son was not a easy sleeper, he usually would not sleep unless somebody is right beside him, but when he was on this swing, he can pretty much sleep for an hour or two without waking up! And for new parents, that's a luxury sometimes! The swing can support up to 25 pounds, but most baby will probably grow out of it before that, but it is a great help before they are 6 months or so.

This cradle swing is fairly well built, it uses 4 "D" batteries, and they can last a good couple of months from regular use, and you can adjust it to swing side-to-side or front-to-back, so depend on your baby's preference, you are covered either case, and it has several speed you can pick from (from experience, slower speed didn't work as well as faster ones), and you can also pick from different sound effect or music to help your baby sleep, and my son was even enjoying this swing when he's awake, he was fascinated by the spinning toys and the mirrored dome!
The only complaint I have is that the swing mechanism can be noisy sometimes, I don't know if it is just my particular unit or a systematic problem for this model, but it didn't seem to bother my son when he's on it (it's not very loud, but it produces a constant grinding sound). Despite this flaw, I highly recommend this swing (or other themed cradle swing in this model line) to any new/expecting parents.
