The Love Guru
The most impressive thing about The Love Guru is how much talent it managed to steal from The Daily Show. Samantha Bee, John Oliver, and Stephen Colbert all play small supporting roles in it. Good thing too, because Mike Myers was in dire need of help. He made a lot of exceptionally dumb mistakes in getting it onto the screen which a lot of other filmmakers really would have thought better of, up …

Love and Other Drugs
There's a general problem I have with Hollywood's so-called "romantic comedies". They tend to try to hard to make audiences laugh by being juvenile and predictably raunchy thus failing to be truly comedic. Then they seem to confuse lust with love and figure that in order for two people to be romantic on screen they have to be physically attractive and preferably white and upper middle …

Love and Other Drugs
15 - 112mins - Comedy/Drama/Romance - 29th December 2010 In general I fit the stereotypical male movie goer- guns = good, action = good, comedy = good, romance = good...as long as it combines a lot of guns and action and so it was with a bit of trepidation that I approached Love And Other Drugs which I had down as a bit of a romcom. This especially looks the case if you view the short trailer I left …

Love and Other Drugs
I was surprised at how much I like this movie at the end of it. It's not made in heaven love story nor is it one that makes the audience feels good about themselves. Yet, it is one with lots of layering to love and one that is realistic and yet hopeful enough for viewers to go home with lots to think about! Not many movies offer such an even combination of reality, humor, hope and love!

Love and Other Drugs
Not long ago when I talked about "The Proposal" I said that if I could find a "rom com" that took a few more chances and had a few more surprises I could like it a little more.  Love and Other Drugs wins that nomination for toning down it's fluff and throwing in a curve ball or two.  It may not be as funny as it's contemporaries but makes up for it in story.   …

Love and Other Drugs
Calling “Love and Other Drugs” a romantic comedy or a “chick flick” wouldn’t be accurate at all. It is funny with some doses of twisted humor and it is a story about love and how it sneaks up on us at times. However, it would be safe to say that the film is a guy’s “chick flick“. It is set in the time before and during the popularity of Viagra; it is …

Love splash
Arguably the most powerful human emotion since it provokes other emotions such as desire, jealousy, obsession and perhaps even rage; it can be totally unpredictable at times the way it sneaks up on you. It is the most beautiful emotion and yet, it can also be the scariest one. Even the rock band "Foreigner" just couldn't figure out its true meaning. Love has different incarnations. Parental …

Love and Other Drugs
Charming, sexy, smart, engaging and fast paced "Love and Other Drugs" is one of the best romantic dramedies to come out of the Hollywood work mill in the better part of twenty-years. This quick witted and ever so enthralling romance film is designed specifically to appeal to older audiences instead of the teenage Twilight” generation this is one of 2010's most enjoyable and entertaining …

Love and Other Drugs
It turns out that I like this movie quite a great deal. Quite uncharacteristically. It's not that it's a comedy, drama or even melodrama. It turns out to be quite a realistic and touching movie. It's a movie where you don't expect any good out of it from the beginning. Afterall, if people indulged in sex as much as these two characters did and live life as they did, ie steering out …

Love You Forever
This book was a family favorite in my house growing up, although likely for different reasons. What I got from the book was that no matter how messy and troublesome I was I would still be loved, what my mother got out of it was that things could be worse. LOL!

I have an old saying when it comes to love, Love can be like a roller coaster it has its ups and it is down its twist and its turns its upside downs and its loop-de-loops. Nothing is ever simple or easy when it comes to love it is an on going battle that you have to fight to stay in everyday even when you are not fighting it feels like you are. You feel like you are trapped in a corner …

The Love Guru
This movie was just about the funniest dumb movie ive seen in a while. Mike meyers is funny as ever (as long as you can ignore the small parts where austin powers takes over) and justin timberlake is outright hilarious! I didnt even realize that it was him at first but once i did it made it all the better.

Love and Other Drugs
I might be the only serious guy around here who actually enjoyed this flick. Love and Other Drugs directed by Edward Zwick, the guy behind movies like Blood Diamond, captured my attention mainly because of the chosen actors for the leading roles and in an ultimate desperate moment, because of the great reaction from the critics concerning the actual portrayals of the two leading actors.   …

No Greater Love
I’m so thankful to have received a review copy of this most electrifying, moving historical novel by Kathi Macias. I was hooked from the very first line “1989 was not a good year to fall in love-at least not in South Africa, and certainly not with a white man.”       This author had my attention and kept it until the very end. I’m not a history buff …

From Paris With Love
I got one question for you, want to see something go boom? Well that's what you get in "From Paris with Love", the next movie from the director of "Taken". I sat in my seat to this movie thinking I'm just going to "watch John Travolta blow some shit up." Don't get me wrong he does plenty of that in fact the movie even makes a joke out of it, "What's …

From Paris With Love
I really enjoyed this movie that moves at breakneck speed. Reese is an attache for the government stationed in Paris. His main bit of intrigue occurs when he is asked to change license plates for government agents. On the night of his engagement he is asked to help a government agent clear customs. That agent is Travolta who is one of the most non-conventional people he has ever met.    After …

Sometimes life can feel a little unbalanced as you try and find just that, balance. Through the harder times that you may face people will look for ways to avoid thinking of the turmoil you may face using laughter and maybe if you’re lucky the comfort of another person if only for a little while. There are a lot of people out there who will critique this movie for being unbalanced. Considering …
