I get almost all my Social Media news from Mashable. Whether it be Twitter, Facebook, Google, or Apple, Mashable usually has the scoop. They also have a lot of posts about interesting facts as well as which apps are the "Must Haves"
Tech Crunch is the site to follow if you want to know about tech companies, new technology or new innovations in the mobile space. They also have CrunchGear and The TechCrunch50.
TwitScoop. Hello. Obviously. As trending topics move up and down (and sometimes EXPLODE) onto the scene, I usually know what people are talking about before anyone around me. googlewave, glee, patrick swayze. I knew about all of these things because of TwitScoop.
Ken Yeung is a Social Media Marketing guru. His tweets come straight from the heart of Silicone Valley. He gets asked to speak at a lot of functions so he always know whats going on and where to be.
Scoble is at every event and is tweeting directly from it. Scoble has every gadget first and is tweeting directly from it. Scoble has every program/application first and is tweeting directly from it. That is all.
Let's just forget for one moment that he is CONSTANTLY promoting his own blog (wouldn't you be too?) His tweets (which link to his site) range from interesting, from informative to cute. His site is basically a mashup of all he other tech news sites out there.
It's the Los Angeles Times and they tweet out all the news as it is happening. Deaths, coups, robberies, fires, earthquakes. You want all the real live world drama? They deliver it to your Twitter account.
The thing I like most about GigaOm is that they don't just deliver news. They also pose questions such as, "So Why Did Apple Buy a Mapping Company?" Dum, dum, dum!!! Oh, the drama.
Okay, okay, I know. Its geeky and its girly. They tweet out a lot of useful information with a cute twist and they also have a lot of cute tech gadgets like USB cup warmers that wouldn't make it onto other sites.
Miss Rogue tweets not only about trending new technologies, but she also posts a lot of really cool stats like, "Women have 15% less followers than men. Women who 'tweet like men' (more links/@'s) STILL have >10% less followers."
