Despite looking extremely cool, I have to admit that I'm a dork.  I grew up on the outskirts of the small town of Oberlin, LA.  I have since relocated to the Lake Charles, LA area.  I love my home state of Louisiana.  I consider it to be one of the most unique places in the United States.

Hi == thanks for joining the new California community!  It's my fourth community and I have no idea how I will keep up with all of them.  So far the only members are those who do not live in the state (except for me).  Pretty ironic.  California is one of the craziest yet most innovative state in the union and after we get the budget mess straightened out and get a bullet train running from SF to LA, then maybe it will be even better! 

Thanks for the quick tip on San Diego.

No problem on the QT. I loved my brief time there and really enjoyed my weeklong work trip to Temecula. The people there took really good care of us. Oh, and I found it funny that while I was reading your message and you mention the "bullet train running from SF to LA," I knew you meant San Francisco with SF, but immediately thought of the other LA, Louisiana, when I read those letters and not, obviously, Los Angeles!

Yep! We abbreviate that southern land as LA, as opposed to the state, La. That would be great to have a bullet train from here to Louisiana though!
