Dastardly Disney: The Best Villains From The Mouse That Walt Built!

Here's another list of baddies from yours truly. This time around, I'm focusing on my favorite villains from Disney films. For the sake of simplicity, I'm only listing villains from Disney's animated features and the Disney/Pixar films. Hope you enjoy!

Frollo
Frollo
Seedy, sadistic, and quite a bit more adult than most of Disney's villains, Frollo is the baddest guy on the block. Why? While he lacks any sort of super powers, Frollo uses emotional and verbal abuse with perfection (if such a thing can be said). He hides behind the guise of the Church, manipulates those around him, berates Quasimodo at every turn and lusts after Esmerelda. In short, this dude is despicable!

Hades
Hades
Hades is wickedly funny. Like almost every other great villain, he wants to rule, but that pesky Hercules keeps getting in the way. This was definitely one of James Woods' best performances.

Malificent
Malificent
Malificent is just plain evil. Snubbed by the parents of Aurora on their daughter's christening, she curses the young girl to die on her sixteenth birthday. When those plans are foiled, she uses "all the powers of Hell" to exact revenge. For crying out loud, the woman can turn into a dragon! She's definitely one of the scariest villains ever!

Shere Khan
Shere Khan
Shere Khan ruled the jungle....until the man-cub showed up. Mowgli's greatest enemy was suave, debonair, and lethal. Shere Khan was an early favorite villain of mine, and I still love him.

Cruella De Vil
Cruella De Vil
With a penchant for high fashion, Cruella seeks out the finest furs in the world.  Unfortunately for a few dalmations, the next fur coat she wants is attached to them!  This lady is so bad, they wrote a song about her.  You know that's bad!

Ursula
Ursula
Almost as scary as Malificent, and just as cruel, Ursula steals away Ariel's voice and devises a plan to get back at King Triton for banishing her from his kingdom.  While many of Disney's villains start out looking somewhat representable and then turn into something evil, Ursula uglied up from the beginning!

Jafar
Jafar
Jafar wants power: every single drop of it. So how does he go about getting it? He tricks Aladdin into acquiring a lamp that contains a powerful genie that can grant him any wish. Once the genie is in his hands, chaos ensues.

Sid Phillips
Sid Phillips
I put Sid Phillips from Toy Story on this list because he is the perfect representation of every tyrant and bully we all faced as children.  He tortures his toys, his sister's toys, and anything else he can get his hands on.  When Woody and the misfit toys put him in his place, it's one of the most memorable moments of the film.

Chernabog
Chernabog
He unleashes hell on earth in Disney's Fantasia, and although he doesn't say a word, you'll be scared senseless by him.  While Cruella has a song about her, Chernabog has his own theme music.  For that reason, I dub him the pro-wrestler of Disney's villains!

The Queen
The Queen
Malificent's only true competition when it comes to being a really bad lady, the Queen from Snow White was jealous of Snow White's beauty. Desperate to remain the "fairest of them all," she plots to have Snow White murdered. The Queen is one of Disney's nastiest villains, and her fate is one of the most memorable scenes in all of cinematic history.

Fun to remember these nasty villains. Where's Cinderella's stepmother? She was in my nightmares for years!

I always LOVED The Little Mermaid and loved to hate Ursula. Then I found out that she was originally Triton's sister. Still feel the same. :D

Excellent list. Just watched Hercules again last week. Fantastic pick, Hades. I was thinking the same thing: One of James Woods' best roles.

I dig all the women villains for some reason, so I'm glad that the most dastardly ones are on here :P And have you seen Toy Story 3. What about Lotso? Great list, K!

Yep, I actually saw TS3 at the movies. I even have it on DVD now. I just haven't gotten around to reviewing it. Lotso is pretty bad. He might make my second list when I get around to it.

Eartha Kitt is an amazing woman. My brother had the opportunity to meet her in the very late 80's while he was in London. He said she was one of the coolest people he ever met.
