Ten Vacation Spots I Want To Visit Before I Die!

  • Nov 2, 2010
This list was inspired by a list I created that was inspired by a list Scotman created. Once again, I'm focusing on the Deep South here, but there are plenty of places elsewhere that I'd love to visit. Here ya go!
Savannah, Georgia
Not only does Savannah seem to be one of the most picturesque cities I've never been to, it's also loaded with a lot of spooky history that I'm longing to check out!
Lubbock, Texas
Okay, so this city is probably considered more western than southern, but it was the home of rock n' roll legend Buddy Holly and that my friends, is reason enough to include it on this list.
Miami, Florida
It has only been within the last few years that I've become a "beach" person. Miami seems to fit that bill nicely.
Hilton Head Island, South Carolina
I'm a sucker for history, and South Carolina is loaded with it. Unfortunately, I've only been able to visit Charleston (and for a short time at that). If I ever make it to Savannah, Georgia, I'm definitely going to hop the border and check out Hilton Head Island.
St. Augustine, Florida
Of all of the southern states, Florida is the one I've visited the least. St. Augustine is the oldest city in the United States, so I just have to check it out!
Although I've been through Atlanta, I've never had the opportunity to stop and smell the roses there. Atlanta, I'm coming to see you soon!
The home of one of our most important founding fathers and presidents, I'd love to visit the Monticello homestead.
Tampa, Florida
Once again, I've neglected visiting Florida as much as I'd like, so Tampa makes this list.
Corpus Christi, Texas
Galveston Island in Texas is as far south as I've gone on the Texas Gulf Coast. I hope to add Corpus Christi to that list in the very near future.

What did you think of this list?

Fun list! I need to create a list of places to see before I die too considering I'm so slow to travel. :-P

I've been to four of these, 3, 5, 6, 9. St. Augustine is my favorite! Definitely not to be missed.

Scotman's list inspired me to write this one, and while his might be California-centric, I'm focusing strictly on the Deep South. Check'em out ya'll.

Despite looking extremely cool, I have to admit that I'm a dork. I grew up on the outskirts of the small town of Oberlin, LA. I have since relocated to the Lake Charles, LA area.I love my home state … more
