Strolling through Hot Topic the other day, my eyes were immediately drawn to a t-shirt in their Classic Rock Tee section. Oh, I noticed the multitude of Jimi Hendrix, Iron Maiden, Pantera, and Metallica shirts, but one shirt in particular drew me in. On it, four faces shaded in a darkened blue tone stared out at me with bright, white-hot eyes. It was the Starchild, the Space Ace, … more
KISS has made teasing and tempting their fans a rather annoying habit over the last couple of years. Their current album, Monster, was rumored about and dangled in front of fans for over two years before the band finally released it. I'm happy to say that it is one of their best albums in my opinion and was well worth the wait. Also hinted at for quite some … more
It is well known that KISS will put their name on just about anything you can think of, which makes the fact that this is the first time in KISStory that the band has ever adorned the top of PEZ dispensers a tad strange. You would think that the "hottest band in the world" would have jumped on the PEZ train years ago, but for some reason it took almost forty years for it to happen. Yes, … more

I've been a huge KISS fan for quite a few years now, so it should come as no surprise to anyone that I've been eagerly waiting for the release of Monster. After the release of Sonic Boom (which I waited over a decade for) and the highly successful world tour in support of it, KISS announced that they would be releasing their next album some time in late 2011 (November if memory serves … more
Studio album #16, "Revenge," saw KISS roaring back to an edgier, harder form of rock n' roll after a fairly light string of albums throughout the 1980's. It came on the heels of the death of drummer Eric Carr, who is featured posthumously on two tracks on the album. It also features the return of Vinnie Vincent (at least as a songwriter), Bob Ezrin as the producer, and hinted at … more
Anyone who knows me, whether it be in real life, here on Lunch.com, or on Facebook or any number of other social arenas, knows that I am a huge KISS fan. What some of my newer friends and acquaintances might not know is that when I was younger, I was an even bigger Motley Crue fan. I used to smuggle their albums like Shout At The Devil and Girls, Girls, Girls into my bedroom so that my … more
KISS has always been known as merchandising masters. Many people know the band more for the countless shirts, socks, toys, collector cards, and other merchandise than they do for the band's music. I recently acquired a KISS 3D poster for my birthday from my sister-in-law and her boyfriend. It's a standard-sized poster featuring all four original members of the band during … more
I've always felt that in order to rate a greatest hits package properly, you have to look at the overall offering of tracks (these are, after all, supposed to be "great") and any extras that the album comes with (whether it be new songs, liner notes, or some type of freebie). Killers came out in an era when CDs were still out of reach for mainstream music lovers and the LP and … more
Do you really love KISS? I mean REALLY LOVE KISS? Would you like to spend eternity with the band? Well, thanks to a joint venture by the band and Eternal Image, you can be buried with the hottest band in the world. Although KISS has made the KISS Kasket available since 2001, production ended and the last coffin was sold in 2008. In February of 2011, KISS and Eternal … more
I'll buy it for the rejected cover art alone, but KISS is doing fans right by adding unreleased material and also releasing a ten disc DVD set to coincide with this reissue.
Join up with the KISS Navy on this wonderful KISS Kruise. The first one happened in 2011, and there are already dates and plans scheduled for 2012. My wife and I have never been on a cruise, but hopefully she'll want to go on this one with me!
The critics may accuse them of being shallow showmen. And they'd be right. But Kiss is SUPPOSED to be that way, a band more concerned with a good show than musical or allegorical depth! That was, in fact, the whole point behind the band, to put on a huge show and make tons of money, and frontman Gene Simmons will be first to say so - and on many occasions, has outright admitted it without any hesitation! … more

I'm giving it three stars for now just so that I'll have a rating posted on it, but from what I've read in reviews on another site, Ace didn't get too controversial with this book. I hope to read it really soon.
For fans of KISS, 2006's KISS Alive! 1975-2000 might be cause for overkill. However, any true KISS fan knows that overkill is one thing that KISS knows how to do right so it should come as no surprise that this set was released. Included in this bulky fold-out box is the first three of KISS' original live albums (two of which include … more
Riding the popularity wave of their successful 1992 studio album, Revenge, KISS recorded and released Alive III in 1993. Alive III, much like its predecessors Alive! and Alive II, does an excellent job of capturing the raw energy of one of KISS' live shows. Unlike those ablums, though, Alive III does it without Ace Frehley or Peter … more
Just about any time that rock music fans and musicians come together to talk about live albums, one album's name crosses the lips of the more learned members of the group. That album is KISS' fourth album and their first live album, Alive! While I personally don't see it as their best live album (Alive III gets the nod barely beating out Unplugged, with Alive II … more
In the late 1970's, KISS found itself at a crossroads. The band was falling apart internally, and despite the release of four solo projects meant to appease all parties … more
