About lani314
I grew up in a redwood home, built in 1898. Listen to this: The place had kitschy '60s wallpaper, a 1950's kitchen, and a time-capsules (hidden in the wall) with 1920's school books. Yes, this was my childhood home.

And I think, more than anything else, that kooky house has come to define something about me: a mish-mash of times and peoples, nestled between generations and ideas -- all despite the fact that I am really 24 years old.

I'm an SF native who loves (and here comes a gigantic list): used bookstores, Mediterranean food, Asian markets, old movies & classic Hollywood, folk tales and mythology, exploring cities (everywhere from Chicago to Paris to Istanbul), history, literature, international affairs, magazines (Harper's, Economist, etc), family stories, dive bars, crafts, writing, old Americana, journaling, blues music, jazz and friends. And I love music ....everything from Muddy Waters to Fela Kuti and Violeta Parra, from Hank Williams to Bjork, and I also have a soft spot for some bad '90s club music.
