One of the things I'm so very grateful about for having two active dogs in my life is that I'm forced to get out daily. On a bad day, we walk, at minimum, 2 miles. On good days, it can be double that.
Since I know I have a lazy side, it's a very good thing that taking the dogs out for long walks or trips to the local dog park aren't optional. And I always feel better after being outdoors with them. Their joy at being outdoors reminds me of the simple joys of everyday things. Which is a lovely, lovely thing while life trials seem overwhelming.

I completely agree! I tend toward couch potatoness, so the fact that I adopted a dog a few months after I retired is a good thing! She gets me up and out the door every morning (whether I want to be or not! hehe).
