Lollapalooza for Dogs.

So I tend to treat my dog like a human, because, well, why not? And because she’s just so darn adorable and I think she understands every word I say to her (except maybe, “sit”, “stay”,” no”, “bad”, and “stop chewing my shoe”).  Though I’m totally in love with her now, getting a puppy was a seriously difficult decision. I spend a lot of time at work, I enjoying going out to dinner, working out at the gym, and attending impromptu cocktail catch-ups with my friends. I recognize this isn’t exactly fair to a dog. I mean would you want to be stuck in my back hallway for hours on end?

Then I stumbled upon pure genius: Music for dogs! This CD is everything a canine wants to listen to. The CD is titled, “While You Are Gone” and hosts a collection of calming and soothing music dogs that love. I was initially skeptical, but the first time I played the CD, Gemma (my bully), perked right up and was intently listening to the variety of nature sounds, wind chimes, kids playing and birds chirping. Once the initial excitement of the sounds wore off, the music seemed to lull her to sleep. Apparently, the music includes sonic waves that only dogs hear (and it works like magic!).

With songs like “Paws and Reflect” and “Treat Tango” this CD also makes an entertaining and sweet gift for new pet parents. The only drawback is that it’s only 70 minutes long. I’ve resorted to putting my CD player on repeat when I’m gone. I’m fully aware that I may be the only one benefitting from this purchase, but it makes me feel better to know that I’m trying to make my dog more comfortable while she’s alone. Oh, and I may have purchased it for the jacket cover too. Have you ever seen a cuter face?
