Our pets are like our kids since all but one has left the nest. We treat them like we would like to be treated, so we try and purchase different types of food each month. This time we purchased a different type "Iams ProActive Health". You can purchase this at just about any grocery store across the country for the low price of $21.00 for a large bag just under 17.5 pounds. It is safe enough for dogs older than one year of age. This is made in the USA in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Guaranteed Analysis
This has 22% crude protein, 12% crude fat minimum, 5% maximum crude fiber, 10% maximum moisture, omega 6 fatty acids minimum of 2%, omega 3 fatty acids minimum 0.13%.
Ingredients
This includes lamb meal, brewers rice, corn meal, ground whole grain sorghum, corn grits, chicken by product meal, ground whole grain barley, chicken fat [preserved with mixed-tocopherols a source of vitamin E], dried beef pulp, chicken flavor, dried egg product, brewers dried yeast, potassium chloride, monosodium phosphate, caramel, fructooligosaccharides, DL-methionine, minerals (ferrous sulfate, zinc oxide, manganese sulfate, copper sulfate, manganous oxide, potassium iodide, cobalt carbonate), Vitamins (vitamin E supplement, ascorbic acid, vitamin A acetate, calcium pantothenate, biotin, thiamine mononitrate [source of vitamin B1], vitamin B12 supplement, niacin, riboflavin supplement [source of vitamin B2], pyridoxine hydrochloride [source of vitamin B6], inositol, vitamin D3 supplement, folic acid), choline chloride, calcium carbonate, l-lysine monohydrochloride, citric acid, and rosemary extract.
How much is Enough
You may not know how much that they recommend, that you should feed your pet. A lot depends on how much your pet weighs. For a breed that weighs 3 pounds you can give them 3/8 to ½ cup, for a breed weighing 10 pounds you can give ¾-1 cups, for a medium breed weighing 20 pounds you can give them 1 ¼ - 1 ½ cups, for a breed weighing 30 pounds you can give them 1 ¾ -2 cups, and for all breeds over 40 pounds you can feed them 2 - 2 ½ cups, for breeds that weigh 50 pounds 2 ¼ - 2 ¾ cups, for breeds 60 pounds 2 ¾ - 3 cups, for breeds weighing 70 pounds 3 - 3 ½ cups, for breeds 80 pounds give 3 ¼ - 3 ¾ cups, for breeds 100 pounds give 3 ¾ - 4 ¼ cups.

But, once your pup turns older than one year old, it is time to change their food and that is why we switched to Iams Lamb meal and rice formula. Since, we have one dog over that age of 7 and two under we chose the product right down the middle to help them maintain a good fit.
Iams has a bunch of ½ inch sized small bites in dark brown and lighter brown (but mostly dry). When we first brought this food home our dogs gorged themselves with this food and went through this bag in less than two weeks. If they could they would have chewed through the bag to get at this food. We usually put this food inside of an automatic feeder and they will eat twice a day. This helps keep them in shape and very healthy, so there is less time spent at the vets. Our dogs just loved this brand and once they tasted it, they calmed down and stopped gorging. This dog food has a bunch of healthy benefits such as: healthy digestion, strong bones, healthy skin and coat, teeth, strong immune system, strong muscles, healthy heart.
