Many dogs around the country who have given to their country and are now themselves in need can not get proper medical treatment. Through the efforts of Diane Whetsel andSage her Border Collie , The American Kennel Club 2009 Search & Rescue Dog of the Year, The Sage Foundation For Dogs That Serve is setting up a not for profit foundation to offer financial assistance for dogs in need. We can not forget canines that give when they need to receive. Please check out the site for more info.

Protecting the Welfare of Dogs Who Serve

Many dogs provide hard, dangerous and loyal service beside their human handlers in wars, crime prevention, and natural and manmade disasters. When these dogs are injured or fall ill, often as a direct result of their work, their services are terminated; their fate, uncertain.

Our mission is to promote the welfare of dogs who have faithfully served (often in harm’s way) in wars, police work, crime prevention, and rescue efforts through education and increased public awareness.
