Sometimes we need to take a moment, slow down and smell the roses, literally. The Huntington Library is a wonderful place to view interesting gardens (including their beautiful and serene Rose garden), tour the grounds, see rare art collections, and enjoy high tea. I have heard of this place before but visited it for the first time in June. I was amazed. I felt so at peace, so intrigued by the estate and all it had to offer that I bought a membership that day! I high recommend it for people interested in nature or natural science, for families (they have a cool children's garden with a water area for the kids to play), art lovers and collectors, and tea lovers. Though I don't live close, I have been here three times since June and I still haven't seen everything. I can't wait to go back.

OK, confession time. I have never been to this place and I used to live in Pasadena!! I'm not that far now, in West Hollywood so I should get my lazy bum over there to smell the roses.

I love the Huntington Library! It's one of my favorite places. The grounds are amazing with all the different gardens and structures.
Have you been to either of the Getty museums? I love the Getty Center and have heard the Getty Villa in Malibu is ridiculously beautiful. If you enjoy the gardens at Huntington, the Getty Villa might be right up your alley.

It's actually in Pasadena. I need to add a link to the review. I was just doing it quickly while my daughter was sleeping. I went to the Arboretum but it was for a training of all things in one of their rooms so I didn't even get to visit the grounds. I heard it's great though. I'll have to try it when it cools down.

Sounds like a great place, I would love to visit if I was close enough! There is also the Los Angeles Arboretum, have you been there before? In my area I haven't yet found anything quite like the Huntington Library and Gardens. We do however have the Museum of Fine Arts with an amazing collection and the new Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway. Thanks for the review, if I ever happen to be near San Marino I'll have to stop by!
