I wouldn't be honest if I said that I already knew the young man Christoper Wallace aka Biggie Smalls, aka the Notorious B.I.G. would be the rap phenomenon we all knew him as. I heard a couple of his cuts; most notably his track Party and Bullshit off the Who's the Man? soundtrack, and his featured cut on the late Heavy D's posse track A Bunch of Niggas off the Blue Funk album. This is another one my favorites during Hip Hop's golden era. Biggie came out very strong with his two singles Juicy and Unbelieveable. He also proved to be a damn good story teller with Warning and Me and My Bitch. The production was spot on and he was indeed very ill on the mic. Full review coming soon.

I missed the Biggie/2pac era in which people looked left and right to each coast of America to produce its next biggest track. (Instead, I grew with Badboy's later artists like Mase, 112, and Danity Kane.)  But with the hugely anticipated Notorious movie coming up which portrays the life and death of the the famous rapper, I decided to take a more honest listen to the entire album that started Biggie's career and took the label to high places even after his death.    Before …
