After negotiations between UFC and Fedor Emelianenko fell through this past week, Fedor signs with Strike Force.

Strike Force, which airs on Showtime and NBC, has been competing with UFC for the MMA fan base. Unlike many other organizations out there, Strike Force has a solid lineup of fighters in all their weight classes.  But what has set them truly apart has been their female fighters.  They, in my opinion, have signed two of the best MMA female fighters in the game and have them scheduled to fight August 15th "Cyborg v Carano".  Unlike the garbage that floats around all over the web with female fighters these fighters are the real deal, strong, technical fighters.

The signing of Fedor, who is proven to be the best heavyweight fighter in MMA has dealt a blow to the UFC.  The one weight class in the UFC that needs some life is the heavyweights, so much so that this new season of TUFF(Spike TV this September) features all heavyweights.   Fans were holding their breath in hopes of a Fedor v Lesnar (UFC Heavy Weight Champ and all around Beast) match, but this new signing at Strike Force has basically eliminated any chance of that fight in the near future.  Fedor is scheduled to debut on Showtime this Fall.

As if the signing of Fedor was not enough for all the die hard Combat Sport fans, Strike Force also signs Renaldo "Jacare" Souza an elite Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Grappling Champion, turned MMA fighter.  Many ground fighters turn to MMA, but Jacare is a legitimate threat in his weight class.  With a little more experience in MMA against top fighters, he could be a top contender for any organization's championship belt. So there it is two huge signings by Strike Force USA, "Cyborg v Carano" this month and wait and see what happens with the heavyweights in both Strike Force and the UFC.   One last thing, as much as I like the UFC commentators, I find myself less annoyed and not hitting the mute button as much while watching Strike Force...for what it's worth.
Fedor Jacare
