Initially, I got the impression that the Grease Lightning's Muscle Tshirt had been revamped & upgraded with art designs similar to prison tattoos and endorsed by MMA/UFC celebrities.  With the sex appleal image, marketing the clothing line to the nightlife was probably easy for them.

I first noticed the Affliction T-shirts in Las Vegas about a year ago worn by dudes that looked as if they lived & died by 24 hr fitness.  Personally, I couldn't wear an Affliction T shirt to any festiv function because I won't feel sexy with the way it fits on me.  Therefore, " to each his own "  rock Affliction wear with no regrets if thats what you want.

Most events allow Affliction especially nightclubs because the attire is flexible and at the discretion of the establishment which may allow a sexy T-shirt however we should draw the line when attending a function that requires Formal Attire.

Let's not get too carried away, its still just a T-shirt.

I am clearly out of it on fashion because I just noticed that these shirts are everywhere. When did this happen?

Haha, so true.  As hot as I think Affliction is, it should never be passed off as formal wear, nor should any other line from this company, be it Xtreme Couture, Archaic, or Sinful.  And as much as I love Sinful, I know when and when not to wear it!

Nice review!  I do think it's really funny that you see all these UFC fighters wear the Affliction clothing line, yet these cloths are suitable for nightlife at clubs.  Whatever happened to Button Downs?  I also just wanted to let you know that you can share your reviews on sites like Twitter and Facebook using the new Share box at the top of your reviews!

About this topic

Affliction Clothing is an American clothing manufacturer based in Signal Hill, California. It is owned by Affliction Inc. who also run MMA promotion Affliction Entertainment.

Affliction was launched in August 2005. It is co-owned by Tom Atencio, Todd Beard, Eric Foss, and Clifton Chason and originated as a spin-out from Foss and Chason's Digital Ink Creative Services. On November 14, 2008, Todd Beard resigned after Kim Couture, Randy Couture's wife, filed for a restraining order against him in a Clark County court.

Affliction's clothing line includes t-shirts, polo shirts, thermals, and hoodies. Their style has been described as "skull and crossbone inspired". Many of Affliction's shirts bear the logo of many of the world's top ranked MMA fighters, including Georges St. Pierre, Randy Couture, and Quinton Jackson.

Several nightclubs and bars in Vancouver & Victoria do not allow Affliction's clothing in addition to other labels such as Ed Hardy due to a perceived association with local gang activities. Pamela Rogers, a spokesperson for Affliction, maintained that the brand "has nothing to do with gangs" and describes it instead as an "upscale men’s boutique brand". In Calgary, the nightclub "Cowboys" has also banned the use of Affliction t-shirts, due to the incidents in Vancouver and Victoria.
