A sub-series of the larger JumpStart series of educational games.
< read all 1 reviewsAt the beginning of this school year my 2nd grader was having problems with reading. I had previously used several different cd-rom games for my older kids in the mid-90’s so I looked around and found that several of those titles weren’t around anymore. One of the titles that were still around was Jumpstart. After comparing all the new types of software, I decided to try it because the price was less and the features looked to be better than the others out on the market. I brought it home and she has not stopped playing it every chance she gets since. It offers multiple skill levels in phonics, math skills, and art. All of this together with customizable characters, a cd of music and an interactive DVD game makes it a great way to help any child improve skills. I can see that her reading has improved thanks to the learning content. I love the fact that because she thinks it’s a game there’s no struggle to get her to work on improving skills. Put that with the emailed progress reports we get from Jumpstart and the extra online add-on games and you have a very nice combination.

JumpStart 3D Virtual World is a sub-series of the larger JumpStart series of educational games. It was originally titled JumpStart World.
The series contains 4 games:
JumpStart 3D Virtual World: My First Adventure (originally JumpStart Advanced Premium Preschool World)
JumpStart 3D Virtual World: The Legend of Grizzly McGuffin (originally JumpStart World Kindergarten)
JumpStart 3D Virtual World: Trouble in Town (originally JumpStart World 1st Grade)
JumpStart 3D Virtual World: The Quest for the Color Meister (originally JumpStart World 2nd Grade)
The games feature the user maneuvering a character through a 3D world, going on missions, and playing educational activities.
Unlike the other JumpStart games, each JumpStart 3D Virtual World game comes with a limited number of levels when purchased. When these levels are completed, an online subscription is required for the player to move on. This was not mentioned on early packages, causing complaints from some buyers.
