The chocolate fiend inside of me is always searching for some type of sustenance, and I'm always diving into my distant past for that drug like fix. This brings me back to not exactly a childhood favorite, but it use to get the job done, General Mills Cookie Crisp. This is still a cereal I can get into now, but only in small doses, because it doesn't completely satisfy my crave.
The cereal is made up of smaller cookies with chocolate chips in them. The cookies aren't very hard and they don't sog easily in milk. And speaking of milk, they taste great together. Cookie Crisp also makes a very good stand alone snack, and I enjoy breaking them up and mixing it with vanilla ice cream.
There is one issue that I have, and it's the lack of that big chocolate taste. Cookie Crisp is not a bad cereal at all, don't get me wrong. But when compared to let's say Coco Puffs or even Coco Pebbles, it tends to fall way short.
Cookie Crisp is still good to me, but it can use some type of revamping though. This is only something I pick up when there are no other chocolate cereals on the shelf, and even when I do grab it, this is something that takes me days, maybe even up to 2 weeks to finish. Also, whatever happened to the vanilla flavored Cookie Crisp?
Pros: -Tastes great, nice stand alone snack, doesn't sog easily
Cons: -Not a big chocolate taste, What happened to the Vanilla flavored?

It was so much better to me. Some of the best cereals like Booberry for example just up and disappeared in my area. I haven't seen Booberry in almost 20 years.
