Chips Ahoy! Reeses Peanut Butter Cups. - yuck, this was a pretty gross one.
Aug 2, 2011
I remember being very curious on trying these out, since chocolate and peanut butter are among my favorites in the world, right behind money and women. And just like money and women, sometimes they just don't mesh very well. Which brings me to Nabisco's Chips Ahoy! Made with Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.
While I stood in the store thinking about this bag, I began to think about the two separately, and it made me even more skeptical, because those two products mixed together just didn't sound right. The peanut butter cup and chocolate chips clashed to me, and the peanut butter cup heavily overpowered it. As a result, it gave off a rather bizarre taste to me, and I really didn't enjoy the cup mixed with the cookie at all. This was something that I was only able to eat in small doses. It was nothing like the Chunky Chips Ahoy!, where I wanted to finish that in one sitting.
The cookie is packed with a decent amount of chips, and you can see the pieces of the peanut butter cup in the cookie. There are also stray pieces of peanut butter in there too. The cookies tasted somewhere between ok to blah! together with milk. And like the other Chips Ahoy! brands, they absorb the milk pretty well and don't break easily. The bag comes with about 18 cookies and is resealable.
This is a cookie I'm going to leave alone, not only because I am allergic to peanut butter, also because it just didn't taste good to me. However, if they keep combining chocolate with peanut butter like this, it won't be hard for me to quit.
