I first came across Cristian's songs in the album Azul. It was back then in 2001. That album is one of the greatest though, I love every single song in it although I've no idea what the lyrics are all about. Musically & melodically, it's one fine album. Very upbeat, very Latin and certain very romantic!
Cristian's vocal charms. One only has to listen to him and feel upbeat about the world, the day and life in general. That I think is what I like about his music. At least, that's what the album Azul was all about. Over the years, Cristian has developed into a more mature artist and is not only watchable but truly charming in his own way.
The best thing about living outside America is that one is often exposed to many different cultures if one travels a lot and is one the lookout for alternative music. I do travel a bit and have often try to catch a glimpse of another culture's musical talents and sometimes am lucky to come across the most wonderful music one is blessed with. Music is such a beautiful experience and it often brings one across the universe, both external and internal and for that very reason I'm thankful to all the musicians who have made life a most beautiful journey...
& Cristian is certainly one of the very best!
Incidentally, love songs are universal... no matter which language it's sung in, they all follow a certain rhythm & tune. I've heard them in Indonesian, in Latin, in English, in Chinese, in Cantonese, very recently in Mongolian, etc... they are universal. One simply has to listen with the heart and one can feel the very emotion in the song. It's amazing, isn't it? No prior knowledge of a language is needed to enjoy music in another language! It is an art form indeed!
