The fusion movement in Jazz which started in the late 60's blended Jazz with elements from other music styles like Rock, Funk, Electronic, World Music and Classical Music. BUT before that, jazz artist had been blending other kinds of music with jazz and here is a list of pre-fusion jazz music which mixes all kinds of music with jazz.
Raymond Scott
Scott was a brilliant mind and he created Great music where he blends jazz with classical music and puts a lot of humour in the blend to. Even if you are not familiar with the name Raymond Scott you have heard his music because it was used in hundreds of Warner Brothers cartoons.

The John Kirby Sextet - Complete Columbia & RCA Victor Recordings
Kirby often made funfilled Jazz arrangements of Classical music with his sextet by composers like Grieg, Beethoven, Dvorak, Chopin, Schubert, Lehar, Donizetti and Tchaikovsky.

Duke Ellington - 3 Suites
Ellington blends the Classical Music of Grieg and Tchaikovsky with Jazz and creates marvelous suites full of colour and jucy rhythms.

Stan Kenton Plays Bob Graettinger City of Glass
A strange blend of Jazz with modern dissonant Classical music.

The Great Be Bop Trompeter Dizzy Gillespie loved to blend Afro Cuban Rhythms with his Jazz.

Birth of the Third Stream
Gunther Schuller and Pianist John Lewis experimented with blending classical music with jazz and called it The Third Stream.

Charles Mingus Tijuana Moods
Bass master Charles Mingus added Mexican and other Latin Rhythms to his music on this great Recording.

Third Stream Music Modern Jazz Quartet
The Modern Jazz Quartet made many wonderful Chamber Jazz Recordings where Jazz is mixed with Classical Music.

Dave Brubeck - Jazz Impressions of Eurasia
Brubeck made this album after a tour to Europe and Asia and you can hear Classical and World Music blended with the Jazz in a marvelous way.

Jazz Impressions of Japan by Dave Brubeck
Brubeck often added world music to his Jazz Compositions and here it is Japan.

The Dave Brubeck Quartet: Time Out 50th Anniversary
This is a very famous Jazz Classic and the first piece, Blue rondo a la Turk is influenced by Turkish music and the odd time rhythms that are common there.

The French Pianist Jacques Loussier has swinged Bach on many Brilliant CD's.

The Brilliant Swedish pianist Jan Johansson blends Swedish Folk songs with jazz and the results are sublime.

Bug Music - Don Byron
On this great CD Byron plays the music and arrangements of Scott, Kirby and Ellington.

Great list and I really enjoyed samling some of these videos. Loved the piece by Modern Jazz Quartet. Great stuff!

Yes it's a beauty - I was lucky to see them in the mid 80's when they gave a concert here in Reykjavik.

Jacques Loussier's Bach is positively brilliant. His variations on the basic theme are just incredible. But he really ought to close his mouth. He's liable to drool on the keys if he's not careful, LOL.

Ha Ha - perhaps all that jucy jazz is making him hungry, but at least he does not moan and squeal like Keith jarrett.
