Great stories from great science fiction writers. Has a who's who of famous actors before they were famous.

Like The Twilight Zone many of the stories were written by great science fiction writers. Special effects are nothing compared to the later versions but the only Star Trek incarnation that makes my all time list.
The show that changed television. The first to have a movie spin-off and to mesmorize school kids who used to rush home from school to watch it. Full of unedited mistakes that led to the mystique. The first vampire hero.

Great first season helps it make my top 10. Mediocore second season but looking for a rebound in season 3.

I liked some of the films (eg Doctor Who and the Dailecks). Never really watched the television series but it makes my list because so many other people I know like it.
Growing up most males in my age bracket had a crush on Diana Rigg. The show was really intriguing and had science fiction elements to it. Several of the actors from Hammer Films appeared (Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee). The last season when Emma was replaced by Tara King (Linda Thorsen) it didn't still have the same oomph (like some of the early episodes that had Honor Blackman).
This show always had an intriguing opening sequence. The gadgets that they used were first class for the time period that this show was shot (during the 60's).
If you can get over the fact that everyone spoke English and that they had the same clothing at the beginning of each episode, you would find this is a great series. The first episode that showed the entire tunnel was amazing. Another one of those Irwin Allen series that was never resolved (like Lost in Space and Land of the Giants).

How'd you feel about The Prisoner? And who was your favorite Who?

I only saw Patrick McGoohan in Secret Agent. I know of the Prisoner from its run on public television but never really watched it. Didn't realize it dealt in the scifi realm. I am more of a fan of the Peter Cushing Dr. Who which was the movie version. The TV version was rarely available in my area but it rated my list because I know a lot of people into it.
The Prisioner was just plain weird and that easily pushes it into the realm of science fiction, although not necessarily in the technological sense. It's a 60s' thing.

I first got on this blog to discuss my first passion which is books. Since I have gotten on I find that books are only a piece of this blog and I can discuss just about anything that comes to mind. It … more
