This is my favorite science fiction series. I grew up with the original series, starting with Jon Pertwee and haven't looked back. Matt Smith is doing a brilliant job as the current Doctor!

Haven't seen much of it yet, but I'm loving what I've seen. I like the idea that the Doctor can use his machine, TARDIS, to go absolutely anywhere in space and time, and that he can interact with a lot of famous figures, and that it makes for incredible flexibility in its plots.

Doctor Who is a fantastic show with a rich history. It's so much fun and the reboot does a great job of updating the show while keeping the heart of it intact. Can't recommend this show highly enough.

Last of the Timelords, the Doctor travels through time and space the way ordinary folks go on holiday. Personal champion of the Earth and specifically Great Britain, he often travels with a companion from Earth. He does often need to attend to issues that would disrupt the proper flow of time, but wherever we roam time spent with the Doctor is always a thought provoking adventure!

Doctor Who is a British science fiction television programme produced by the BBC. The programme depicts the adventures of a mysterious and eccentric humanoid alien known as the Doctor who travels through time and space in his spacecraft, the TARDIS (an acronym for Time And Relative Dimensions In Space), which normally appears from the exterior to be a blue 1950s British police box. With his companions, he explores time and space, faces a variety of foes and saves civilizations, helping others and righting wrongs, as well as improving the way people, aliens and robots choose to live their lives.

The programme is listed in Guinness World Records as the longest-running science fiction television show in the world, and as the "most successful" science fiction series of all time, in terms of its overall broadcast ratings, DVD and book sales, iTunes traffic, and "illegal downloads". It has been recognised for its imaginative stories, creative low-budget special effects during its original run, and pioneering use of electronic music (originally produced by the BBC Radiophonic Workshop). The show is a significant part of British popular culture; in the United Kingdom and elsewhere, it has become a cult television favourite and has influenced generations of British television professionals, many of whom grew up watching the series. It has received recognition from critics and the public as one of the finest British television programmes, including the BAFTA Award...
