Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick (2009)      I just couldn't get into this book, I wanted to but it just wasn't happening.      Mostly it's my fault: I'm burnt out on paranormal romances and I have my own problems with angel stories.      But it's also a little bit the books fault because I'm tired of books with smart, generally reasonable, heroines who seem to completely lose their minds and fall for not only a dangerous …

[...]  I really was reluctant to read this book. The cover was so beautiful that I really thought that the actual book couldn't help but pale by comparison. Stupid reason not to read a book, I know. But when Hush, Hush won the Cover of the Year in the Urban Fantasy Cover Art Awards, I decided I couldn't wait any longer to read it. I bought and read it that same day determined to know if the beauty of this book was more than skin deep. The verdict? First off, you need to know three things: …

I'll admit. I got this for the cover. Come on, it is pretty breath-takingly gorgeous.    I know, I'm a horrible person. However, the writing and the story were just as beautiful as the cover.    While there do seem to be a few similarities to Twilight, I still thoroughly enjoyed the story. Nora's your average teen girl, with one best friend named Vee. Her world comes tumbling down when bad boy Patch comes to town, and Nora's stuck being his lab partner.     …

Nora is not the type of girl to do senseless things. She is responsible and caring. But when she gets a new partner in biology, Patch, all of Nora's straight facts and truths start to get a little muddied. There's something strange about Patch, and it's not just that he seems to know all of Nora's secrets can appears everywhere she is. It's not the utter gorgeousness or the fact that nobody knows anything about him. It's something much more sinister and unusual that Nora senses, that tells her nothing …

Baaaa...I'm a sheep. I had to follow the herd, so I downloaded Hush Hush to my kindle. I had read a lot of mixed reviews regarding this particular book, but I just couldn't resist that cover. Talk about tragic! Maybe it is the repressed Catholic in me, but there is something about a fallen angel that just piques my interest. This is how I spent the ride home from Gulf Shores, Alabama getting to know Nora and Patch.    Nora is your atypical, slightly mental from the loss of a …

HUSH, HUSH was one of the most anticipated book of the year. It was very hyped up and received loads of 5 star reviews. Of course, that made me wary, since it really couldn't be as amazing as everyone said. I was right. I really wanted to like it though since the storyline sounded interesting.      WARNING: SPOILERS  Pro's:    -Fitzpatrick succeeds in creating a dark atmosphere with her fluid writing  -the fallen angel lore which …

Hush Hush is not the type of book I usually read (as my previous reviews no doubt show). However, this book had a few things going for it - among them - the cover. I am a "judge a book by its cover" type of girl and I enjoy good covers very much - this book had one! Secondly, people have been talking about this book all over the place and I just had to see what the big deal was. Lastly, I like novels that are set in weird, creepy like towns and this one was set in Maine - which was a definite attraction …

hush, hush
*possible small spoilers in this review*   Nora Grey is a good student, good friend, good daughter walking the straight line in hopes of a successful future. Patch is secretive, sometimes sexy (when not being creepy), in-your-face bad boy(?) with a dark past. These two opposites are thrown together when their biology teacher teams them up as partners. Nora tells herself she doesn’t care about Patch, he is not attractive, he is in fact annoying and a little scary. Patch invades Nora’s …

Nora Grey's life is turned upside down the day arrogant Patch becomes her lab partner. Patch is a know it all who teases Nora mercilessly and acts as if he knows every detail of her life. He scares and infuriates her, but yet she can't deny the tiny tug of attraction, or the feeling that there is more to him than meets the eye. Then a strange series of break-ins and dangerous encounters with a figure in a ski mask put both Nora and her friend in danger, making her realize that she must get answers...before …
