This was just the first installment in the many stories of the Night World.
Fugitives from Night World, three vampire sisters leave their isolated home to live among humans in Daughters of Darkness. Their brother, Ash, is sent to bring the girls back, but he falls in love with their beautiful friend. Slowly the laws of the Night World are being broken.
Two witch cousins fight over their high school crush. It's a battle between black magic and white magic in Spellbinder. You can feel the emotion flowing from the pages that each character feels, rather they are the ones being put under the spells, or the ones doing the magic.
This whole book was written so well, it was hard to put down. I could not wait for the other three to come out. J Smith's writing is unique in that I can never decide if its blissfully simple or intricate disguised as simple. Either way I loved this book and I will read it again and again until my eyes hurt.

GENERAL OVERVIEW At first glance, this book appeared daunting because of its sheer length, 729 pages, and the fact that it's comprised of three novels in one. Once I started reading "Secret Vampire," I discovered that this was going to be a quick and rather boring read. Despite many arguments to the contrary, this book was a great read. At least for me it was. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Many argue that with her books, L.J. Smith is trying to copy the Twilight series, however, most of her books were released long before Stephanie Meyer started writing her series. For example, this one was released in 1996 and the first book of her Vampire Diaries series was released in 1990. The idea behind this was good but it has been difficult for me to keep up with. The first novel in the book felt very familiar. I just can't bring myself to read the rest of this book. i give it a 1 for effort.
