Cookies and Cream Ice-cream
Ever since I first ate this type of ice cream back in the early 90's, it's become one of my absolute favorite varieties of ice cream.  Who would have thought that mixing broken up Oreo cookies into ice cream would make such an appealing dessert?

Chocolate
This one thing that I can never stay away from for long. But it is true, that it makes clothes go smaller.

I don't think there's anything that can beat out hot chocolate as the perfect fall and wintertime beverage that isn't alcoholic.  Personally, I prefer my hot chocolate with cayenne pepper sprinkled in it, as I think the heat enhances the sweetness of the chocolate.

Maple Grove Farms Maple Cream Cookies
You won't find them on the shelves of most major supermarkets. Rather, you are more likely to find Maple Grove Farms fabulous Maple Cream Cookies at a locally-owned gourmet shop or at gift shops all across America.  Made with 100% pure maple syrup and shaped like maple leaves these yummy cream sandwich cookies are a taste sensation.  My wife and I don't come across them very …

Cookies and Cream Ice-cream
This should be called cookies and ice cream: Together at last! They say it's the little things in life, and cookies and cream proves that by taking two of the simplest treats and putting them together!

S'more
As much as I like to camp out and have fun in the woods, I just never really caught what was the deal with s'mores.

Raisins
One of the more useful fruits, raisins are nice and sweet little things on their own, but they go well with a lot of other things. They represent the ants in ants on a log, and can be put into cookies, cereal, crusts, and any number of other things.

Chocolate
Contrary to popular belief, real chocolate is NOT bad for you if you take in the right quantities. It's milk chocolate that's the bad stuff, not the real, darker, more cacao-based chocolate. Anyway, what's not to love? It's delicious! It works as a sweet snack and goes well with a lot of different wines, and is fantastic in a lot of pastry baking!

Lemon
Full of useful antioxidants, and that is the saving grace of the lemon. Otherwise, these suckers are VERY sour, and you'll definitely be getting those sour lips if you eat one on its own. Sugar can be a big help in defusing the sour flavor, but you're better off just adding lemon juice or lemons to larger meals as light flavoring.

Chocolate Chip Cookies
Fresh from the over they're warm, gooey, and reek of that special combination of sugar and chocolate in every bite! You KNOW you want one right now!     There are few such things as bad chocolate chip cookies. The bad ones are just sugar cookies with chocolate chips placed sparsely throughout. The good ones - lord are there EVER a lot of them - have the chocolate as the main attraction, …

Whole Foods Market in Austin, Texas
I love the food they sell here and I'm very fond of the idea. What a shame the prices will break the bank. Also, would it kill Mackey to make Whole Foods more established in the national eye? I just moved to Buffalo, and the closest Whole Foods is in Toronto - a 90-minute drive which only people who have passports can make! The most accessable without a passport is a four-hour drive, in freaking …

My hot chocolate of choice! Aside from cinnamon, I also add a pinch of chili powder to give it an extra kick ;)

Ice Cream Sandwiches
Ice cream is simply divine. Placing a bed of it between two crackers is a good idea in theory, but make sure you're in a cool place because that stuff will melt and leak all over the place in a real hurry. Unlike cones, there's no base you can really use to salvage the melted ice cream in an ice cream sandwich.

It's chocolate, and it's hot! What more do you need to know? It's great after a hard outdoor winter activity, but I find in a lot of cases you need to ignore the serving size and just really dump in the hot chocolate mix in order to get the real chocolate taste. Otherwise it doesn't taste like chocolate, but like hot water that happens to be flavored like chocolate.

Bless the south!  Fried chicken.  BBQ.  Biscuits and Gravy.  I could almost hoist the confederate flag outside of my house.  Almost.  If it had a cast iron skillet on it instead of the blue X, then it would be very possible.  Yeah, I loves me some southern food.      Rooted in southern tradition, the Red Velvet cupcake has become the darling of …

Whole Foods Market in Austin, Texas
Though Trader Joe's is my grocery store of choice for afford-ability, on a recent stop at Whole Foods I couldn't help but notice two things. First, it isn't as expensive as I previously thought. Most staple organic items that aren't processed or micro-packaged are priced about the same as even a regular grocery store. This may be due to the fact that conventional foods are not immune to inflation …

Brownies
It is a treat that Americans have been enjoying since they were first introduced at the Chicago World's Fair way back in 1893. Evidently those who tasted the first brownies found them to be an irresistible treat. Word spread and a few years later in 1897 the first known recipe for brownies was published in of all places the Sears Roebuck catalogue. What people liked so much about brownies was …
