A Delicious Cookie!!

I sampled this recipe yesterday in the office.  Sarinya brought these in and they were so good i insisted that she make a Data Point for this recipe so i could review it!!  These cookies are great for someone looking for something a little different that the standards (chocolate chip, white chocolate macadamia, peanut butter, snickerdoodle, oatmeal raisin, etc.).  I really love the idea of having dried fruit in a cookie, hence i love oatmeal raisin cookies, but i don't like it when they add chocolate to an oatmeal raisin cookie.  Somehow that combination never suited me.  I was afraid i would feel the same way about this chocolate/cranberry combo.... but no!  these are great!!!  They kind of remind me of an old ice cream i remember my grandpa liked which was a combination of chocolate and orange, which i loved as a kid, but you just don't see it very often anymore.

If you are a person who only believes that fruit should only be eaten by itself and should be mixed into salads, pizzas, etc, then you will likely hate this cookie... but if you are that person (and you know who you are) loosen up a bit... live a little.  Try this cookie.

Sarinya... i want more!  Thanks for making them!!

An interesting concept for a cookie, if you removed the cranberry part. I am not a huge fan of cranberry so this just does not tempt the palate.

But regarding the fruit comment, I just think one needs to show a bit of restraint before they start marrying fruit with other food items. Next thing you know, you will want to add pinnaple to spicey tomato sauce and call it a pizza. Why not drop some oranges, cherries and some freshly cut mango on there as well.?

Fruit together with chocolate or as a sweet/dessert is one thing, but hot italian tomato sauce and pinapple?  Now where is that "hawaiian pizza data point?"

i'm glad you found this... you saw i called you in this. Good. I think you should review the hawaiian pizza... that will get some lively debate going... and actually that will really help build your similarity network about food preferences.

hmmm, i'm intrigued.. i'll definitely have to make an office visit whenver i hear rumors of sarinya's boutique sounding cookies making another appearance.. i think in the second to last paragraph, you meant "should not be mixed into..." doing some research on your grandpa's ice cream because i have never heard of such a flavor, i stumbled into this quote, "Many years ago, Baskin-Robbins made a choc/orange ice cream that looked like fresh tar but was absolutely delicious. Unfortuntely, my mother and sister and I were the only ones eating it and they stopped making it." i bet these cookies would be a huge hit with that family!!
