As a cheese-a-holic, anyday is a perfect day for cheese straws!  Be it to accompany soup or salad, dipped in hummus or spinach dip, or better yet, eaten as is, they're always pleasant to have!  So here I am, sharing my never-fail, simple cheese straw recipe :)

Ingredients
2 cups of shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
1 stick of butter
1.5 cups of flour
1 tablespoon of salt
Dash of cayenne pepper to taste (optional)

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  2. Cream the cheddar cheese and butter together
  3. Add flour, salt and cayenne pepper
  4. Mix and work with your fingers to form sticks
  5. Pop in oven and bake for 8-10 minutes.
Sidenote: Sometimes I shape them into circular or rectangle wafer shapes, too!  And to help with forming sticks, the batter can also be piped like frosting.

Prepare to bedazzle all your friends!

I actually didn't know what a cheese straw is until I read your review, but this looks like just the kind of greasy snack I like. At least it's baked, right? It looks easy to make!

I am also a cheeseaholic. A bag or a block of cheese on anything is my type of snack! Thanks for this!
