The amount of space outside our solar system is nearly unfathomable. When you think about the fastest traveling spacecraft humanity has ever built travels at 50,000km/hr (meaning it could travel from …

You can't deny a convertible in Hawaii!
I just got back from a week long trip to Oahu, Hawaii. I must say, I don't think I have ever had a better consecutive seven days in my entire life; but that is neither here nor there. The point of …

The Chopin Manuscript
I always loved the game growing up where one kids started a story and then each person in the circle would continue it and take it in whatever direction he or she pleased. Such is the Chopin Manuscript, …

Thanks for joining my comics community -- good to see you're active again. As you can see, a lot of changes to the site since you last logged on. I just posted earlier today several crazy comics reviews!

Thanks for the invite. I'm slowly getting back into reviewing. I was out for a while with surgery and my workload and have a pile of stuff to review. Slowly easing my way back into it. Haven't fully explored the community yet but it is on my to-do list. Thanks!

Sure, I understand. Take your time. I look forward to your stuff!

I have read all but...three Hugo nominees, with the execption of a James White novel back a long time ago that I have not been able to find (although I believe it was actually a novella). The three I have not read: To Your Scattered Bodies Go by Philip Jose Farmer Little Big by John Crowley (own a copy) The Many Colored Land by Julian May Well, I take that back. I do have Anatham by Neal Stephenson and Little Brother by Cory Doctrow sitting on my TBR pile which are this year's nominees. Have you read Charles Stross? He is such a big hit bit I really don't care for his books.
July 12, 2009
That's incredible. Do you typically agree with the winner out of each years nominees? I always pick up ones that I find at half price books, and have a stack of them still unread...

I have not read any Charles Stross, although every time I see an entry on him at the Orbit Books blog I get interested, but not enough to go anywhere. His books sound interesting, but not grab it immediately interesting.

I haven't been reading much lately because I just adopted a puppy and he has been consuming my time where I have to constantly supervise him instead of laying on the couch reading!
July 12, 2009
I think the winner for me tends to be hit and miss. I probably disagree more than I agree with the winners, but it's probably close to even. That is funny -- I have a new puppy too that is taking up all my time!

What breed? Mine is a Labrador/Golden Retriever.

French Bulldog. If you read that really long post on my profile page comments, you'll see the travails I've been through with her.
