A celebrity from Kingston Ontario Canada

Bryan Adams negotiated the shifting tides of the '80s so well that it never seemed as if he were changing to fit the times. A veteran of the '70s studio arena rock game, Adams struck out on his own in the early '80s, turning into a star … see full wiki

The Music of Bryan Adams

I’m not a fan of Bryan (Guy) Adams really, but I found myself liking quite a few of his compositions.

This may be walking down memory lane as he has been on the music scene for as long as I can remember. Beginning with the most popular song (Everything I do) I do it for you from Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves starring Kevin Costner.  This song spent a record-breaking seventeen weeks at number one on UK Singles Chart.

And then comes the movie in the 90s, The Mirror Has Two Faces starring Barbara Streisand and Jeff Bridges. I finally found Someone is the soundtrack for that movie, a duet between Streisand and Adams. A great movie self-directed by Barbara Streisand which was nominated for an Oscar. The song gave Streisand a first significant hit in a decade!

Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman
was my most favorite of all his songs. Written in 1995 it hits no. 1 in the U.S. for 5 weeks but I’ve somewhat missed it then. Strange! I only got to hear it performed by Chris Daughtry at the American Idol in 2006, a decade later! I fell in love with the song sung by Chris and yes, he’s my very own American Idol! THE Idol. I love his rendition of the song. Just awesome!

Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman is an “amazing song, lyrically & musically”, “it has all the elements of a great love song” & Chris Daughtry perfected it as we saw his performance on American Idol. What an amazing performance!!!

Thank you, Bryan! For all the amazing and beautiful compositions!

I am not a huge Bryan Adams fan either but I do like a few of his songs most notably "Summer of '69" as that was the year I graduated from high school. That makes me real old. I agree with you. Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman" is an excellent tune as well.
