Italian musician borned in Venice on Nov. 15, 1905. He was a popular conductor and was associated with light orchestra genre. Official Site: http://themantovaniorchestra.com/
Mantovani is a great conductor and I love his arrangements for many of the songs we are all familiar with. Although initially introduced to his music via the cassette Strauss Waltzes I eventually ended up buying many of Mantovani & his orchestra's CDs. The interesting thing is that early conditioning made it such that whenever I hear his orchestra playing, I feel like I'm on a holiday! His music certainly brings images of Europe, not sure how that is so, nowhere but Europe. Images of Europe... it must have something to do with those waltzes from Johann Strauss!
This is really not a review, rather it's an intro to some of my favorites from Mantovani's music. I hope you'll like them. They are truly some great classics!
P.S.: My most favorite of the pop music by Mantovani is in fact Cara Mia. However, I couldn't find it anywhere on Youtube.

Nice review. Sampled a couple of the videos and enjoyed them!
Nice review, Sharrie. Some lovely classical stuff that has found its way onto the pop radar. LOL, when I think of Cara Mia, the only think that comes to mind is The Righteous Brothers.
