** out of **** Think of how disastrous this could have been: a modern jab at cinematically reincarnating the popularity of the Three Stooges. As you may know, all three members of the comedy trio that graced the television screens of so many younglings at the time of its original broadcast have long since died, thus someone else would have to take the throne. This reworking of "The Three Stooges" casts Will Sasso, Chris Diamantopoulos, and Sean Hayes in the roles of Curley, … more
It doesn't take Stieg Larson to come up with a masterpiece like three idiots hitting each other to the delight of millions, but after watching every Stooge short on a loop for 20 hours a day, the Farrelly Brothers just barely succeed here. I'll admit, I was NOT looking forward to this movie. I believe I even called what I saw in the trailer "cancerous" with it's iconic comedy legends being played by different people, the bit with the lobster in … more
Star Rating: I must recuse myself as not being the biggest fan of the original Three Stooges comedy team and the shorts that made them so famous. To my surprise...I absolutely loved it and I LMAO. … more
Nyuk Nyuk Nyuk! I have to admit, I was more a fan of the classic "Three Stooges" when I was a kid than when I was an adult. Now I am no expert on "stooginess" but I have to admit that this 2012 film surprised me. The film had the right tone, style and delivery to emulate the classic TV series. Comparisons to the actors who played the characters would be inevitable, since those actors defined the characters; but Hayes, Sasso and Diamantopoulos did a great job. … more
I'll admit that when I saw trailers for this movie, I was cringing, expecting this to be another typical Hollywood bastardization of something classic, but I finally watched it and was proven wrong. This is a humorous, solid homage to the iconic slapstick trio. This is a solid homage, and delivers some Stooge-esque humor in a modern context, as I especially loved the scenes with Moe becoming a cast member on Jersey Shore and delivering a lot of hilarious slapstick … more
