A 2010 remake of the 1981 film, directed by Louis Leterrier

The movie, as many of you know, follows the story of Perseus as he goes to kill Medusa and journeys to meet the three witches in order to slay the Kraken. The movie had a star studded cast with Liam Neeson, Ralph Finnes and Sam Worthington. With lots of special effects and an oppertunity to see this movie in 3D it made for a good way to pass the time.
Now I know alot of people are saying to avoid this movie but honestly I went to see it three times! Yes you read right, three times. I thought that it had a really decent plot and took a not so grand film and brought it into the 21st century.
I felt like Sam Worthington brought a level of emotion to the film that was needed. His charater was moody and sulkey and many times throughout the movie we were reminded that he wanted to complete the task as a man and not a god. For some this may have been slightly annoying but honestly, how would you feel if your family just died at the hands of a God only to turn around and find out that you are actually the son Zeus?
I think you might be a little upset!!
Liam Neeson brought a new kind of Godhead to Zeus. He commanded a powerful feeling that seemed to leave you in awe and Ralph Finnes is just made to play these kinds of parts. Dark and creepy instiling the feeling that Hades is not a God to mess with.
While the movie did lack a heavey plot line, it is one you can go to and not have to over think a whole lot. It is one of those films that you might go to see when you have some down time and deffinatly one you see when it comes out on video.
There is trully a much bigger story line that could be explored though. This moive kept it sort and sweet yet a three part movie could have been streched out of this. With the cast they had, a trilogy would have been awesome.
But like I said, for what it was, it was an excellent movie made only better by the cast.
