Classic country mouse story about an innocent young girl who comes to the big city (Rome), gets mixed up with the dissolute but glamorous children of the rich and powerful, and learns her lesson just in time. Alice Teghil makes it all work at the 12 year old innocent. She is charming as they come. The parallel story of her father, a boob who is slowly driven mad by the collusion and corruption around him, adds some teeth to the story. If this was set in Beverly Hills I would have yawned and turned it off. But the Italians - well, they just make interesting films because they are interesting people.
