Cabela's [Semi] Legendary Adventures

While I may not agree with hunting in real life, I'm definitely a fan of shooting style video games and the Cabela family of hunting games (i.e. Big Game Hunter). As such, I decided to give Legendary Adventures a try. While the game has given my roommate and I hours of entertainment, there are definitely some things that I were disappointed about.

Pros
-It's fun! One of the first times my roommate saw me playing this game she acted like it was a silly game that she'd never play (she loves video games too), but after trying to play it one time she was hooked. She has probably played it more than I have recently.
-There are a lot of features that you can take advantage of. For example, you can add up to two special "tools" that can help you out a lot depending on the 'legendary' animal that you are hunting. You can also increase your adrenaline levels, switch your set of weapons, and add different features to each weapon.
-The graphics are pretty good, and each level has tons of ground to cover.

Cons
-The manual was too brief. It was pretty hard to figure out how to play at the beginning. Short of the obvious objective, it took a long while to discover different rules about the game when they are not all stated in the manual.
-It takes a long time to get any real progress. A single level (from my experience) takes at least 45 minutes to complete. Even though I appreciate how each level is so complex, it would be nice to be able to get through the levels quicker...maybe if you could walk/cover more ground faster?
-The accuracy of some of the weapons (namely the bow & arrow) is seemingly impossible.
-Some of the narration is pretty cheesy, but I guess it's pretty accurate in conveying the culture of "real" hunters!
-The animals never attack you! It might make it more interesting if they did.

Overall I don't regret buying the game. It's been responsible for hours of fun among my friends and I. Between this game and Big Game Hunter, though, I'd have to choose the latter.

I'd never go hunting in real life either, but this game sounds fun enough!  What would be really cool is if they somehow worked it into the yet to be released Project Natal.  Have you seen the demo for that yet?  It's kinda crazy!

Wiki

In Cabela's Legendary Adventures, players hunt in different eras in search of trophies such as white-tailed deer, Yukon moose, Alaskan brown bear and Roosevelt elk in over ten of North America's top hunting locations, including Kodiak Island, the Yukon and the Rocky Mountains. Each location in Cabela's Legendary Adventures is a visually stunning open outdoor environment that encourages exploration and tactical variation. Shooting mechanics have been developed to reflect modern as well as historical hunting technology, so players relive the hunts complete with detail from specific time periods.

Under Cabela's guidance, the firearms, tactics and gear in Cabela's Legendary Adventures are as true to real life as a game will allow. The title also includes a large variety of additional hunts featuring over 30 species of other big game, small game, waterfowl, upland birds and turkey.
