Anthony Bourdain.. will you marry me?

... have you ever made out with a girl with fetal breath?....
WHO SAYS THAT?!?!?!  oh, just Anthony Bourdain.. no big deal.

He travels, he writes, he experiences, he describes, he EATS, and he loves it all.. with no reservations!

In each one hour segment, he gives so much great detail about the destination - enough history so that you know something about the place, but don't think you're sitting through your college history course.  He has enough adventure so you wish you there with him, seeing what he saw, and experiencing what he experiences!

I love his adventures with food...since he is a chef, he does not skimp on his food! And he tries some ridiculous food (which is props to him, but I wouldn't try some of the interesting intestinal worm fried head bug cuisine... sorry, but I admire people than can do it). I also love how he comments on how the common everyday plates in other parts of the world could "sell for about $18 in NY for each serving if you put it on a silver plate wth garnish." I guess that's natural when you find out delicacies cost less than $1 in the original country and chefs in the states are charging an arm and a leg for something that's not even authentic. Makes me justify my travel addiction. Just so I can try authentic food.

Basically, I would love to be able to travel with him and open my eyes up to what is out there...both the MAKING and the EATING of the food.. because to admit.. as much as I love to travel and try new foods, I myself definitely have reservations when it comes to trying the kind of things that he tries on his show!

I also think I would have some reservations, some of the stuff he eats is insane! Have you read Bourdain's book Kitchen Confidential? You might find @dmccloud 's review of Bourdain interesting.

From the first time I watched his show No Reservations, I found myself captivated.  Bourdain has this ability to not only show viewers the "real" side of whatever destination he is visiting, but he has this ability to blend the historical context into his shows.  You get a sense of what a particular country, community is about because of the way Bourdain skillfully blends culture, cuisine, and location into his programs.  Bourdain also has a sly cynicism and sense of humor that comes …

I like Anthony Bourdain, even though he comes off as arrogant to many people. But he has the right to, in many ways, because he really does know his stuff. I've seen him travel the world on his tv shows, and no matter where he goes, he eats with an open mind. I even once saw him eat the entrails of a freshly-killed hog.
